FRP Gratings

GFRC / GRC PRODUCTS
FRP / GRP PRODUCTS
Fiberglass grating is rustproof, slip-resistant, lightweight and easy to install. It combines corrosion resistance with strength, long life and safety for reliable service in harsh or caustic environments where carbon or stainless steel is not suitable (chemical processing, refining, offshore, pulp and paper, food and beverage, marine, water and wastewater treatment, electronics, plating and Electro isolated Flooring)

Fiberglass grating is available in three standard resin systems each providing differing levels of corrosion protection.  All three resin systems meet Class 1 Flame Spread Rating per ASTM E-84 test standards.

Ortho Resin: General Purpose Polyester Resin System offers good corrosion resistance at an economical price.
ISO Resin: premium grade Isophthalic Polyester Resin System that provides excellent corrosion protection.

Vinyl Resin: Vinyl Ester Resin System provides the highest level of corrosion protection.

Molded fiberglass grating is the chemical resistant flooring choice for many industrial applications. The high resins content provides excellent corrosion resistance and requires very little maintenance.

BENEFITS OF MOLDED FIBERGLASS GRATING:

Molded FRP gratings are manufactured in a one piece construction which results in a bi-directionally strong product. This allows openings for piping or cables in the grating of up to 10” without any additional support required (may vary depending on grating depth and location of opening). During the molded manufacturing process, the continuous fiberglass rovings are completely covered in a high percentage of resin, 65% by volume. With this high resin content, molded gratings are the most chemically resistant gratings offered and are often used in caustic chemical environments without hesitation.

Molded Gratings are commonly used in a variety of applications, including, but not limited to:

Types of FRP Gratings

Smooth FRP Grating

Smooth Grating has the same characteristics as other FRP Grating except no anti slip surface. These are widely used for decoration, fall protection, fences, machine guards etc.

Mini Mesh FRP Grating

Mini-Mesh Grating has a12mm x 12mm open mesh area. The smaller opening prevents objects as small as13mm from falling through and complies with the European 15mm ball falling test requirement. The smaller holes also offer smooth movement for small wheeled trolleys, wheelchairs etc.

Gritted FRP Grating

Gritted Grating has quartz crystal bonded to the top surface ensuring an extremely durable and slip resistant surface. This type of grating has one of the highest degrees of slip resistance measured for a walking surface.

Covered FRP Grating

All types and sizes of grating are available with covered tops. The covered top is typically 3mm thick and is bonded to the grating panel after manufacture. This creates a strong but lightweight covered panel. All panels are available with gritted, Checkered or smooth finish. Ideally suited to service trenches, access pits, gully covers, walkways and cable troughs etc

FRP Pultruded Grating

Pultruded grating is designed for use in applications that require maximum strength as well as superior corrosion resistance. Manufactured with the highest proportion of fiberglass strands to resin,It is an ideal choice for applications where wide support spans are required. Long useful life spans greater than 40 years are not uncommon.

Resin Systems
Pultruded grating is available in two standard resin systems each providing differing levels of corrosion protection. Both resin systems meet Class 1 Flame Spread Rating per ASTM E-84 test standards.

ISO Resin: premium grade Isophthalic Polyester Resin System that provides excellent corrosion protection.

Vinyl Resin: Vinyl Ester Resin System provides the highest level of corrosion protection.
This non-conductive, maintenance-free molding is lightweight and easy to install. The standard grit-top walking surface provides sure footing. And the protective synthetic veil over the exterior surface allows the grating to reliably withstand UV exposure. It is available in many sizes and can be easily custom-fabricated.

Pultruded grating load bars are manufactured with 65% glass rovings, and 35% resin, which increases the strength of the grating and allows for higher loading and longer spans than molded gratings. This can translate into fewer supports. Additionally, Pultruded gratings are unidirectional and only need to be supported on the ends of the bearing bars, not on all (4) sides.
Pultruded Gratings are commonly used in a variety of applications, including, but not limited to:
